Up and running

Sand Sherpa starts the season with all new additions

Camping weather is finally here and we are ready and excited to welcome our adventurers. We have certainly made the most of the summer down time to make Sherpa Camp even more special.

Bathroom breaks on camp have received a huge makeover after we invested in a purpose-built block. Male and female bathrooms and separate showers are accompanied by a nicely organised storeroom to keep things efficient.

We've also stayed true to our ethos of environmental consideration with water for the unit being pumped up from the aquifer, while shower and basin water is recycled for irrigation (we provide organic soaps and shampoos to avoid any toxins). Water is heated through solar power, which also drives our pumps.

We also have a new events hub, which includes a multipurpose meeting room and outdoor shaded area with cooking stations. In true Sand Sherpa style, this is rugged and military looking. We recycled an old container and insulated the full interior - it is pretty cool!

Pete and I were at camp a few weeks ago filming our new Sherpa Safari experience and take you for a walkaround of our upgrades in the video alongside this post. If you haven't already checked out Sherpa Safari, please do check it out - we are very excited about this new experience, which enables explorers to venture into the reserve driving our vehicles, under expert instruction.

Besides the cool new additions on site, we also have other new toys! Have you seen our new fleet of Toyota Hilux Adventures? These are fully kitted out for off-road exploration and camping. These are what our customers drive on Sherpa Safari and are also available for self-drive camping adventures (under our guidance).

We will be having weekday and weekend camps this season. Thursday camps will start a little later to allow kids to be picked up and for mom and dad to finish just a little early to start the weekend. We'll have some kids entertainment with a movie evening and some activities to allow parents some time to get settled and enjoy the camp. Check out the Thursday camp and Friday camp.

We are super excited about all the adventures that we will share with our customers this new season. Get in early on the weekend camps though as they are getting booked up already!

See you soon!
